Sarah runs the highest-lying windsurf station in the world …
Born in the beautiful valley of Engadin in the Swiss Alps Sarah Missiaen was an ordinary child. Going to school, playing with her friends and practicing sports that her father taught her. Soon she started to realise that a love for water was growing in her.
At the age of 16, she finished school and decided to find the meaning of her life in this world. She chose another path than most of her friends; she decided to work to get the funds she needed to travel, instead of going to study. She traveled the world for a couple of years.
The people she meet around the globe made her realise that she had to do with her life what she really wanted to and that is what she did. At the age of 23 she started to take over her fathers windsurfing school. It is not just a normal school since this school is the highest altitude windsurfing school in the world. On the famous lake of Silvaplana between beautiful mountains it lies an impressive 1800m above sea level.
Despite travelling, seeing the wonders of the world and being far away from the sea, Sarah found her piece in life between the mountains where she was raised, running the windsurfing school close to her roots.
