If you start to play on plastic cans and follow your passion to the point to become a professional drummer you are Different…
Once just an average young boy, Anže Žurbi has now been internationally nicknamed Zurby!
Back then he was just like any other normal child, going to school, watching TV… but there was always a feeling inside him leaving him unsettled. It was only at the age of 16 that he found his passion and this started to mould his life. Despite his lack of money, he no longer could be stopped. Using empty paint tins, he started his music career. His love of music began to sweep him off his feet.
Entering the Conservatoriumfor music and ballet in Ljubljana, Slovenia, playing the drums became more than just a passion. It became an obsession! Only after he had finished his studies at the Conservatoriumfor music in Klagenfurt, Austria, did he start to understand his passion, which drove him to achieve more and to stand out of the crowd.
Soon this passion drove him to join other musicians and artists and he recorded albums of all types of music as the lead drummer. Continuously learning and improving, Zurby attended internationally recognized music seminars and lectures.
With the group The Stroj, he soon entered the international music scene, taking part in such events as: BBC Live Music Festival in Leeds, EXPO 2000 in Hannover, Big Torino 2000, BBC Music Live 2002, Stockton Riverside Festival '03 & '05, and the Singapore Arts Festival 2005.
Currently he is a member of the band TIDE who proudly released their album Regeneration in 13 European countries.
